Carlos Sainz, con la Ferrari, registró el mejor tiempo en la tarde de México. El español marcó un tiempo de 1;20.707. En el segundo lugar terminó Charles Leclerc, con la Ferrari, quedando a 46 centésimas. En el tercer lugar terminó Sergio Pérez, con el Red Bull, quedando a 120 centésimas. En el cuarto lugar terminó Max Verstappen, con el Red Bull, quedando a la misma diferencia que su compañero, Sergio Pérez. Completo el top 5, Lewis Hamilton, quedando a 142 centésimas.
Completaron los diez primeros: Fernando Alonso, Valtteri Bottas, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly y Sebastian Vettel.
