Según la última edición de la revista Autosport, el Gran Premio de Brasil de Fórmula 1 podría cambiar de sede en el futuro después de que los retrasos en la construcción de la nueva zona de boxes del circuito de Interlagos, que debería estar lista para la carrera de 2013, sigue acrecentándose a apenas dos años de que termine el contrato del circuito en 2015.
Además de la posibilidad de volver a Rio de Janeiro, comentada por Bernie Ecclestone hace unos días, un nuevo circuito en Beto Carrero podría convertirse en la alternativa real a la pista que acoge el Gran Premio de manera ininterrumpida desde 1990. El diseño del trazado ya ha sido planificado por Hermann Tilke y según se ha hecho público, Bernie Ecclestone ya habría visitado la zona.
A pesar de la posible entrada de Beto Carrero en el calendario, Interlagos podría continuar acogiendo el Gran Premio si logra superar sus problemas en las infraestructuras ya que la importancia comercial de Brasil en la Fórmula 1 podría abrir las puertas a que el país acogiera dos Grandes Premios cada temporada.
